There goes the neighborhood... ;D
You might want to get a BIG bag of Feed Corn and old bread you dont want and leave it by the shore line..
The Geese will tend to stay on there side of the pond and the Ducks if you have any will tend to be curious.
Swans don't like being approched real fast and need to get to know you or they fly off and if that happens to often they'll move someplace else.. So take your time with him/her...

The 19 or so we have up here are still getting use to us and there kiddy's fly away from us all the time.. the older ones still move away from the boat and now with winter we'll have to start over with them in the spring..

You could end up with something great there if the time to feed once in awhile is taken by you or DW or even nieghbors..
They can be messy like geese but can also be trained to eat on the edge of the water which is what they seem to prefure.
DONT make a sandy beach for them cause they'll take it over.. ;D

Nice shots by the way.. and great to see you have something kwel there..

Gotta run and get my DAD his computer over to him.. last look was still cold outside

Well, the move was complete, some minor changes which were for the better anyway.
Got the gateway on the second shelf from the floor on the left side pf my old computer desk and the battery back up still on the floor but on the right side in the cubby hole.
I do have one question, the cables for the data and the power cord going to the gateway are mixed together, shouldn't they be separated somewhat?

I'll get some updated pictures when I get a chance ;)

Buggy ;D

You should always try to keep the cables seperate from each other.. But will admit its not as bad as it use to be with RF noise on DSL or even networking but a CAT6 cable for instance sitting next to a florescent can still loose a connection because of it.. and VOIP can get a little interferance if you dont take messeres at the gateway to keep that noise down..

The best one would be a old CRT and the gateway next to it and a computer with a lot of static on the MB making a lot of static type noise you cant here till you try to listen to a AM/FM radio near it on the right channel...

They get stupid sometimes

Call 800 244 2444 at the prompt billing ask for a combined billing agent.
if they ask why tell them your combined bill is a mess and you only want to speak to a combined billing person..

When you get that person on the phone tell them your not happy and that your wife is really upset with the whole deal and that you need to know why the bill is so high and what happened to your promotion..

If need be work in how whe might just want to cancel everything.. Dont tell them you want to cancel..

Have them add everything up Take your time with it and ask at the end of the conversation how much they really need sent in..

Here's what I've ran into.. You get a Deal with them but the Computer dosnt take the deal at the time of the order.. Which I know they been trying to fix for months since taking on the third party order takers..

Bottom line only a Combined Billing agent can fix the problem and the Billing dept might also give some insite but then you might be put threw some added hold times..

Once all the billing is straght it should be good to go. Whatever the combined billing guy tells you your bill should be pay only that amount. Only because it might take a couple months for the bill to be straightened out... Its a automated computer problem and takes getting the flags in order.. and whatever the guy or girl tells you on the phone it still has to go threw several people to fix it..

Again the good part is they keep notes.. So ask for the refrence number at the end of the conversation..
If you call tomarrow make sure its before 11am your time..
Hopefully you get a agent in Ohio or MO. or further west

this is a quote from another board GB

I learnt about this remarkable coincidence today as I put my hair out to dry:

At five minutes and six seconds after 4 AM on the 8th of July this year, the time and date will be:

04:05:06 07/08/09 no matter wherever you are in the world. You will have to wait a thousand years for this to happen again. I, for one, will be sick of waiting!

its a real simple solution.

Tag the cables or mark them with a small perminent marker just like the rest of the phone guys and network guys
on the back of the router/gateway put a small peice of tape marked As an excample 1 2 3 or 4 and so on
and mark the cables in the same order and your done.. Oh and take a picture and Hide it ;D kidding but if you take a picture after marking it that could save time in the future.
Us phone/cable guys call it Graffiti and its not unusual for us to pop things together and walk away and forget about the Graffiti only because if it dont work the first time with only one or two cables it will work the second attempt

Hope that made some sence

Belkin.. Was that from AT&T..

No the way I saw one of the file cabinets it looked like a small tower speaker After further review it looks like a cabinet ;D

Anyway try to move the belkin as they get older.. UPS's get older they make a little niose trying to keep the battery charged.. Remember batteries in them things if there lithium they go bad after 3 years.. NiHcad last longer.. lot longer with longer up times when the powers out. they can also last longer.

The Battery companies need to stop producing lithium.. theyre dirtier in the long run

Is that a BIG speaker on the floor of the office currantly next to the gateway..
That can cause reverb when talking on the phone threw the gateway..
I sugest if thats gonna stay there then go out and buy CAT6 700Mhz cables to reduce noise between the phones and DSL

RF isnt as bad on DSL as it use to be but still exists. If you took a speaker out of the speaker case and set it top of a old CRT monitor or TV you would see the picture distort.. Its really kewl as it turns different colors..

The floor is best or inside that shelving unit with lots of air..
If you saw my office AND your not right now.
All thats live in there is a computer running pfSense which I made sure had no static coming off of it.. and a network printer with all the networking devices.
I have to re-wire the network in that room so cables are all over the place. but no static in there.
I had a network switch sitting outside the room near all the TV equiptment and that would cause that old switch to fall out once in a while. It was also less then 3 feet from the Base speaker on the floor when we had the surround sound on thats when I noticed the problem.

When I re-wire I'll be eliminating 10 cables going threw the wall of the second floor
to leave one behind for the second floor.
the network equiptment will all be in one spot in the Dungeon.. Cold closet with two large computer case fans in there. The closet already stays at no more then 68 degree's F and sometimes as low as 40degree's.. Its a cold closet ;D
We dont use it for food sooo its a good spot to hide all the cables.

I'l still have the network layered but the mess will be outta site making the wife extreemly happy.. Im gonna take the old office and move our filling cabinets into the closet in that room and make that room into a guest room or whatever.. Nost things I do on a laptop anyway. I can have a small gigabyte switch in that room with a wireless access point.
The more I can hide the better. and if the way the Internet is done changes I wont need to have a Tech going threw the whole house.. they can go direct to the source.

Look at your plan more then once you might find a even better way to do it.
Businesses and schools have there equipment outta site outta mind why cant a homeowner... Or the further away you have it outta site the less attractive it is to Grand kids.

Our re-wiring will take a full day or more to do.. The Internet will only be down for 5 minutes with the move... OR 30 seconds if I can coordinate the switch with two DSL modems/bridges... ;D
I just want to see the floor in my office again ;D

That be one of the smarter things to do with Facebook since they been broken into a few times..
Twasent fun yesterday.. When i went to leave duh back door wouldnt close.. I had to get under the back room and tighten the jacks to raise the house a little.. That back room originally was a pourch that was enclosed by the last owner and was never set right on the pads and it sinks every once in a while with real bad winters and thaw.
